Hello everyone!

2NA is honoured to be partnering with The John Howard Society of Toronto (JHST) and Joanne Amos, a case manager with the JHST and former nurse, to host our annual two-part Harm-Reduction series. Harm reduction strategies mitigate negative health outcomes often associated with legal/illegal drug use. Harm reduction puts health and safety above all and recognizes a person over associated stigmas.

The second session will go over de-escalation techniques that are essential for nurses working in any patient care setting. Information regarding registration and zoom details will be provided via email. Attendees of BOTH events (Part I and Part II) will receive a certificate of participation!

We hope to see you there!

Hello everyone! We hope you have enjoyed your winter break.

2NA is hosting an Active Bystander Training event in partnership with The Centre for Sexual Violence Response, Support, and Education at York University on Thursday January 13th, from 5-6:30pm over zoom.

The Active Bystander program aims to educate York community members to intervene when witnessing any form of sexual violence. Through programs and initiatives, The Centre at York University aims to provide education on what sexual violence is, how consent can be incorporated in our daily lives and to empower individuals to say something, or do something when witnessing forms of sexual violence. Therefore, it is important that we develop strategies and an understanding of how to approach these encounters with patients.

This event is open to all nursing students and will be Part 1 of our Nurses Against Sexual Violence event series. Stay tuned for an upcoming Part 2 this term!

Click the link in the 2NA instagram bio to join us! And please be sure to register for the event through the zoom link.
